Lisa O’Neill Hill, Director of External Communications at City of Hope Orange County, is a standout leader who blends strategic vision with heart. She’s played a pivotal role in City of Hope’s $1.5 billion expansion into the region—helping bring world-class cancer care to more people, closer to home. Lisa believes her greatest responsibility as a leader is to create other leaders. She builds teams that are mission-driven, empowered, and unafraid to innovate. She removes barriers, champions new ideas, and shares credit generously—always prioritizing the success of those around her. When she saw a troubling rise in cancer among younger adults, Lisa launched “The Younger Face of Cancer”—a bold, data-driven initiative that became the most successful media campaign in City of Hope OC’s history. She also introduced the now-iconic “pink coat” campaign, which earned praise across the region and spotlighted lifesaving screening updates. Under Lisa’s leadership, City of Hope OC has captured 84% of cancer-related media coverage in the region and exceeded patient volume expectations, now caring for more than 32,000 people closer to home. Lisa brings unmatched compassion and purpose to her work, driven by a deep understanding of the cancer journey and a commitment to those it affects.
