The Finest Awards event recognizes the best of our health care marketing and communications industry within Southern California. These awards recognize digital and traditional media, special events, and the metrics that measure success. Receipt of a Finest Award represents excellence in your field and line of work. |
Due to COVID-19 our dates for 2020 and following awards will be in the Spring.
Entry period April 30, 2019 - November 1, 2020. We will open entries on November 17th and close on January 11th at 5pm.
Our gala will be held in March and will follow social distancing guidelines. Event details to unfold as we near the end of 2020.

Health Care Communicators of San Diego County Announces Merger and 2019 Finest Awards
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – September 18, 2019 – At the 2019 Finest Awards, the Health Care Communicators of San Diego (HCCSD) announced that as of September 30, 2019, it will have merged with the Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Association (HPRMA), whose members include marketing, public relations and advertising professionals from Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire. The new organization will be called Health Care Communicators of Southern California (HCCSC).
Due to the impending merger, this year’s Finest Awards included entries submitted from all across Southern California. Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards were distributed in 43 categories, including public relations, digital marketing, writing, collateral and special events.
UC San Diego Health received 15 awards and Scripps Health took home 14 awards. Other multiple award winners included Palomar Health (11), Torrance-based Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center (8), Millennium Health (7), Children’s Hospital of Orange County (6), Rady Children’s Hospital (4), Reflexion Health (4), Loma Linda University Health (4), Sharp Grossmont Hospital (3), North County Health Services (2) and AMN Healthcare (2). Single award winners included BrandSavants, Ignyte, and Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute and The Super Dentists.
The Best in Show award went to Scripps Health for Scripps Diabetes Outreach for their Multicultural Relations campaign, achieving the highest overall score among all entries. Also at the event, a $2,000 scholarship was presented to Oberlyn Gambito, a recent graduate from Sweetwater High School who will study Molecular and Cellular Biology at University of California, San Diego.
